The Cartier Pasha de Cartier returns with major updates for 2020. Two new sizes and some two dozen variations from basic to extravagant define the new Pasha, right along with notable changes introduced for enhanced wearing comfort and ownership experience.
The two main models of the new Cartier Pasha de Cartier are almost indistinguishable, save for their size and date aperture. The smaller version for women measures 35mm-wide and 9.37mm-thick, while the larger model is 41mm in diameter with a case thickness of 9.55mm. Both models feature mechanical movements put on display by a sapphire crystal caseback: The Cartier Manufacture 1847MC self-winding caliber provides 40 hours of power reserve with a 4Hz operating frequency in all the “basic” 41mm and 35mm Pasha de Cartier watches in 2020. Cool and notable new design elements include the introduction of Cartier’s QuickSwitch quick strap release system and its SmartLink quick bracelet sizing systems. These we first saw on the updated Santos a few years back, and it’s great to see them making the rounds across Cartier collections. There is a new, more discreet, and arguably more elegant way of having your Pasha de Cartier personalized: unscrew the trademark chained crown cover to find a tiny space dedicated to have initials engraved. The crown cover, naturally for Cartier, has a blue spinel or sapphire. Cartier enthusiasts will note that the crown underneath the crown cover now also sports the blue spinel for a much more refined look than previously seen on Pasha models.
Collectors of ultra-high-end Cartier watches have not been left hanging, either. The new Pasha collection includes eight novelties in three categories. First, two bedazzled pieces are made available in the 35mm size with diamonds across the case, bezel, and on the most lavish version, even on the dial. Two Cartier Pasha de Cartier Tourbillon watches debut in 2020, all measuring 41mm-wide and 10.45mm-thick. The 18k white gold version comes with diamonds, the 18k pink gold variant, without. Finally, Cartier introduces the Pasha de Cartier Skeleton for 2020, with a 41mm by 10.45mm case and a skeletonized version of one of its more widely used calibers. Cased in steel and available on a steel bracelet or leather strap, based on last year’s comparable Santos,
Pricing is yet to be fixed for the Cartier Pasha de Cartier watches for 2020, but what we do know is that they are expected to be available starting in September and October of 2020, depending on the model variation.
