In 2020, Montblanc is introducing a new 43 mm size to the Star Legacy product line with the presentation of two new men’s pieces, the Star Legacy Automatic Date and the Star Legacy Chronograph Day&Date.
Montblanc Star Legacy Automatic Date 43 mm
The new Montblanc Star Legacy Automatic Date comes in a 43mm stainless steel case with a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and a sapphire crystal case back. There are two dial colours, one in ivory with a silvery-white flange and featuring 18 K rose gold-coated Roman numerals, indexes and hands, and the other in anthracite with black rhodium coated Roman numerals, indexes and hands. Both are enhanced with luminescent material SuperLuminova for a better readability at night. The timepieces are powered by the MB 24.17 automatic movement that has a date at three o’clock and a 38-hour power reserve. The timepieces are water resistant to 50 meters and come fitted with a brown or grey Sfumato strap and are available on a stainless steel 3 links bracelet that has been partly polished and partly satin-finished.
Star Legacy, one of Montblanc’s classical watch collections, which draws its inspiration from pocket watch lines, is enhanced this year with a new reference, the Chrono Day & Date. Like all the timepieces from the range, its 43 mm-diameter case adorns a rounded, polished pebble shape. The brand proposes two versions of dial. The first features an ivory hue and boasts a flange and silvery-white counters. The Roman numerals and indexes displayed are hovered over by rose-gold-coated hands. Blued hands make reading short-cycle time, measured by the chronograph, incredibly easy. The second boasts an anthracite face with black rhodium-plated, Super-LumiNova-coated Roman numerals, indexes and hands for perfect readability in the dark.
All the time data is powered by the energy supplied by the MB25.07 caliber. This self-winding movement offers the timepiece a power reserve of some 48 hours. Elapsed time is displayed via a central direct-drive, a 30-minute totalizer and a 12-hour counter respectively set at 12 and 6 o’clock. The mechanism ticks over the day and date in a double aperture nestling at 3 o’clock.
The Star Legacy Chrono Day & Date is worn on a brown or grey Sfumato alligator strap, depending on the version chosen. These timepieces may also be coupled with a steel bracelet. In this case, the steel boasts alternating satin-brushed and polished finishes.

The MB25.07 chronograph movement has a 48-hour power reserve and indicates the elapsed seconds via a central chronograph seconds hand, the elapsed minutes in a 30-minute counter, and the elapsed hours in a 12-hour counter. The day and date displays can be found in apertures at three o’clock.
